Hon’ble Governor Arif Mohammad Khan – born in Bulandshahr, B.A from Aligarh Muslim University and LLB from Lucknow University, student union leader and a legislator at the young age of 26 from Siyana in UP. If that wasn’t trailblazing enough, took an extremely principled stand when the then government overturned the Supreme Court judgement in the Shah Bano case of 1986 – and resigned from the government. He has held many ministerial portfolios but from 2007 chose to tread the apolitical path. In 201 wrote a well read and popular book Text and Context : Quran and Contemporary Challenges. Recently appointed the Governor of the state of Kerala.
