As India – that is Bharat – enters its Amrit Kaal, as a civil society the one document that governs every aspect of our life is our Constitution. While much is written and documented about the process of its creation, it is very important to understand the ethos and the psyche that shaped it. . What went into writing the world’s lengthiest constitution for a sovereign country – the 3+ years of the Constituent Assembly, the preceding versions of 1935 or 1919 – or is it a much longer history that shaped it.
