Indian Agriculture - Breaking the Shackles

Prabodhan Manch Parle

An AoP established 4 years back, with a YouTube subscriber base of 7500 and in-person registered database of 2500+, we now have 1750+ donors of whom about a quarter have made repeat donations. We can be reached through our website, our WhatsApp (text only), our email and our Twitter handle @ManchParle.

As we entered the second month of lockdown X.0, we realised that the new normal was to have an e-gathering over a Webinar. Our team put together the entire infrastructure and we were able to host our first Webinar .. with more than 1050 registrations and many more viewers. Going further down using technology,in this fifth month of partial lockdown, we decided to stream both sessions (Part 1 and Part 2) simultaneously on Youtube and Facebook, getting an overwhelming response.

Speaker's Introduction

The Monsoon in India plays a critical role in the entire agricultural sector of India. The Indian farmer looks forward to this season with a bated breath. This year, the monsoon turned out even more important than normal to the farmer and for Indian agriculture. In the midst of a pandemic, in its monsoon session, both houses of the Parliament passed 3 landmark legislations: legislations that promise to bring about fundamental changes to India’s agrarian economy and perhaps the full liberalization of the sector. Predictably, the opposition parties are playing hard ball and the media still seems enamoured with other topics. And we - at Prabodhan Manch Parle believe this is yet another opportunity for us to present our audience the full picture of this historic development.

To bring out the intricacies of the end-to-end value chain in the agricultural economy, we have with us someone who is hands-on managing this business and has extensive practical and technical knowledge of the subject. Mr. Balram Yadav - a Post-Graduate in Agri Business Management from the prestigious IIM, Ahmedabad, Former Chairman of the Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturers Association of India and the current Managing Director of Godrej Agrovet.
